FLAME 650
VPI’s Sixth Generation
Precision Glass Scribing Machine
Introduction : Glass cutting industries worldwide have communicated more stringent requirements to VPI and we are pleased to introduce the FLAME-650, our sixth-generation Precision Glass Scriber.
Substrate Size: The maximum substrate size is 650 x 625mm (26 x 25”).
Scribe Head : A completely new modular scribe head further improves scribe quality. This technology is delivered from the company that has more experience in the manufacturing of Precision Glass Scribing (PGS) equipment than any other company in the world!
Linear Motion: VPI first utilized linear motors in conjunction with PGS in 1990. Now, in 2007, we present an all-new linear drive system. Bell-Everman, long experienced in linear motion produced the Servonut to commutate the nut on a stationary lead screw versus turning the screw. This completely eliminates “ball screw whip”. The Servonut provides linear motor performance at lower cost and delivers a marked improvement in Scribe Placement Accuracy and Quality. Yields are improved and Customer’s profits are increased.
Motion Control: Delta Tau’s PMAC-II Turbo Geo Brick provides unparalleled Motion Control and VPI Software provides control and technical support to greatly enhance operation, performance, maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities. Additional benefits of the PMAC-II Turbo and VPI Software include:
|
Error Reporting |
Motor Axis Status |
|
Plotting Features |
Onscreen Interface & Jog Control |
|
On System Help |
Optional Touch Screen |
User Interface: The new User Interface is Windows XP® Pro platform integrated with Custom Screens controlled with mouse and keyboard or Touch Screen. Expanded features include: Program Preview, Axis Jog, computer controlled Scribe Pressure with Soft-Key control, SHAPES and Linear DXF File conversion to VPI Programs, Motion Control Status, Onscreen Help, Error Log / Reporting, and Custom Programming.
Trouble-Shooting :
Should troubleshooting be necessary, assistance is Onscreen Help. Additionally, Real Time maintenance is Online via a customer supplied Internet connection.
Conclusion :
VPI presented PGS to the Flat Panel Display (FPD) Industry in 1976 and introduces another PGS Scriber to those who realize throughput and yield are far more valuable than lower price.
